General conditions

A player who has been a VVCS member for at least 12 months is entitled to VVCS-financed legal assistance. This legal aid concerns the deployment of a lawyer to be appointed by the VVCS in proceedings before the Arbitration Committee of the KNVB, the Dispute Resolution Chamber of FIFA (DRC) and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Paid by the VVCS are the costs of fees, office expenses, domestic travel expenses and any litigation costs orders up to a maximum of €5,000. International travel costs and arbitration costs of the CAS (CAS fee, administrative costs CAS and arbitrator fees and costs) are not paid by the VVCS.

A player who has been a VVCS member for less than a year is not entitled to VVCS-funded legal aid. However, a player who is a member for a shorter period is at all times entitled to legal advice to be provided by VVCS that takes up a maximum of three hours of working time in an area of law covered by VVCS, being labour law, social security and disciplinary law in the context of professional football.

Assistance to partners or family members is not included. In exceptional cases, the VVCS board and/or management is free to decide to finance the costs of legal assistance for players who have been members for less than twelve months. Only after a player has been a VVCS member for at least twelve months is he entitled to participate in Team VVCS and the VVCS reintegration service.

If a player is a member of VVCS for a shorter period and he nevertheless wishes to make use of the aforementioned services, he will be charged an additional fee for this in the amount of the annual membership fee applicable to him minus the monthly membership fees already paid by him.

Members of VVCS are at all times entitled to make use of the other services of VVCS (currently, among other things, following a study and/or course at the VVCS Academy, participating in the job application service, making use of a webshop (if any) affiliated with VVCS, having a partner of VVCS take care of the income tax return at a special rate; making use of the Stichting Schuldhulpverlening and the Guidance Service in the event of occupational disability).

VVCS membership applies until (written) cancellation.
