The VVCS has its own team of experienced player coaches consisting of former players Louis Laros, Patrick van Diemen and Edwin de Kruijff. Players can call on them for personal coaching, contract talks and mediation.
They are registered with the KNVB as intermediaries.
The KNVB conducted a hallmark (keurmerk) for players’ unions and organisations of intermediaries. The VVCS was granted this hallmark on 22 November 2017. For the VVCS, this marked a first. In fact, this makes it the first organisation worldwide with such a hallmark. The purpose of this KNVB quality mark is to promote the quality and reliability of intermediaries, and to do so for the protection of clubs and players. It is also emphatically a quality mark for the intermediaries employed by the VVCS.
For legal matters, the VVCS intermediaries use the knowledge and experience of VVCS director mr Louis Everard and Stijn Boeykens.
In terms of employment mediation, the VVCS has a partnership with Vision4Soccer, the agency of Edwin Olde Riekerink. The VVCS intermediaries work closely with him.
Louis Laros was just 27 when he suffered a knee injury that ended his career far too soon. After a year-long rehabilitation at sports/medical centre Zeist, Louis still played 15 games in the first team of Vitesse but permanent knee injuries forced him to quit at the age of 29. Via Willem II and VVV, Louis joined Vitesse in 1995, where he experienced the heyday of the Arnhem club.
Louis Laros was a youth coach at Vitesse for two years before opting for a future as a player’s coach with the VVCS in 2004. Louis immediately obtained his licence Official Players Agent licensed by the KNVB. He currently still plays in the second team of his youth club RCD in Dordrecht.
Patrick himself can look back on a fine career. He was active in professional football for 19 years. During that period, he played more than 450 matches for FC Utrecht, Anderlecht and RKC Waalwijk, among others. Already during his active career, he was very active within and for the VVCS. Having previously been a member of the CSR, he joined the VVCS board. From 1 July 2008, he swapped his board membership for the full-time position of player coach. In the old system, Patrick already held the licence Official Players Agent licensed by the KNVB.
Edwin himself has had a long career in Dutch professional football. He was active for 14 years and played over 350 matches for various Dutch BVOs, including FC Utrecht and FC Groningen. In addition, he played some 30 youth internationals from O17 to the Dutch Junior Team. Edwin started his professional football career in 1987 at FC Utrecht and left for the North in the 1995/199 season to play for FC Groningen. Subsequently, Edwin played for BV Veendam for more than four seasons. In 2001, due to a serious knee injury, he ended his active career here.
In 2001, Edwin joined the VVCS as player’s coach. At the time, he immediately obtained his licence Official Players Agent licensed by the KNVB. Following that, he joined his ‘old love’ FC Utrecht in 2008 as head of scouting and from 2012 to 2016 as manager of player affairs and scouting. Later, Edwin held the position of TD at N.E.C.
With effect from January 2019, Edwin has once again joined the VVCS as player coach.
