Training Sales & Communication

“Is commerce something for you?”

About the course

In cooperation with The Better Sales Company, the VVCS Academy provides the sales & communication course.

This commercial course is suitable for the ambitious (former) professional footballer who possesses qualities such as perseverance, persuasiveness, goal-orientation, empathy in combination with good communicative and analytical skills. After this programme, you can start as an account manager in the business world.

This programme will also give you the tools you need in everyday life to communicate effectively with people in your own environment.

This short well-organised training course is given once a year on seven evenings from February to May. You also arrange a short work experience placement at a company in your own network, where you can experience how commerce works in practice. What the commerce course has given me is that I (think I) understand the basics of commerce. Listening, summarising and questioning are important in this and can be used in every conversation. I was also given tools to lead the conversation and this too can be useful in an everyday conversation, but also in commerce. I really like the way the lessons are taught because they are given on location. The group is small so a lot of attention is given to everyone and you get both theory and practice directly. Please keep teaching with the same enthusiasm because we all found it a successful course!

The training has given me several things, for example, I can keep and take direction in a conversation.Learned to ask open questions and which open questions I should ask.Non-verbal communication was also covered. All in all, I learned a lot about communicating.Personally, I like it when training is not too long. This training was perfect. Meeting in Zeist was also ideal, both from Nijmegen and Amsterdam it was easy to do. I would also recommend this course because you really learn to have conversations in a proper way.

Lucas Woudenberg
The course has given me a better understanding of commerce/sales.The ‘basic’ tricks of the trade both in terms of theory and practice. This course is small-scale.You learn quickly in a small group while enjoying some food beforehand.Suitable times can be arranged in consultation. The combination of theory and practice is very instructive. The possible choice of a number of internship days also helps. It gives you a good insight into commerce. This set-up is great.

Barry Maguire
The course has given me good tools on how to conduct an interview and its structure.I took the step of walking with companies.Everything is directly applicable in practice and also shows you that you don’t need a 4-year degree.

Rens van Eijden
As a result of this training, I now have a better understanding of the profession of commerce. Moreover, I have gained tools and structure to conduct/lead conversations at all sorts of levels, both private and business. This programme is much broader than just the field of commerce. During your career, you will meet many people. Journalists, trainers, directors, sponsors and supporters. After taking this course, you can be a lot more aware and take more control in important conversations. Once again, I would like to thank you for your enthusiasm, the mirror you showed and the knowledgeable lessons.
