Marketing course
The module The Market deals with the fundamentals of marketing and entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship starts with understanding the market in which your organisation operates or the market you want to enter with your idea. Exploring your (potential) position in the market is therefore a first step, which involves not only looking at the opportunities and threats the market offers, but also considering how your organisation or company relates to it. Is it attractive to enter this market? Who are my competitors? What does my product or service add to this market?
So it is important as an entrepreneur or intrapreneur to know how to gain insight into your market position. In doing so, we use existing methodologies such as the SWOT analysis. Based on the information and data collected, you map out how your organisation relates to itself (internally) or to the market (externally). From this, you define innovative concepts for a product or service.
You will be introduced to marketing, marketing planning, developments in the market and the environment. Topics, which will be covered include: What do we mean by the market?, buying behaviour, positioning and market segmentation. But you will also conduct research on how you, as an entrepreneur or intrapreneur, can create impact on themes such as sustainability, social entrepreneurship and circularity.
Attention is paid to research, in particular market research: how do you design good research and collect data. How to use already existing sources (desk research) or collect new information (field research).
