This individual course is designed for both players and (future) coaches who want to focus on their mental development and performance. Over the course of five one-hour live online sessions, you’ll work with sports psychologist Paul van Zwam on the same topics covered in the Sports Psychology for Soccer course, but fully tailored to your own situation, goals, and practical experience.
Why does one player thrive under pressure, while another freezes up? What mental factors play a role in this? And above all: how can you positively influence these factors in yourself or in the players you coach?
This individual program focuses on personal attention, customization, and immediate applicability. You’ll work with Paul van Zwam to develop greater self-awareness, self-control, self-reflection, and self-confidence. Through the combination of coaching and training, you’ll not only gain new knowledge and insights but also learn to apply them directly to your own practice.
The sessions take place live online and are scheduled based on agreements between the instructor, coach, and player. This makes the program flexible to follow and easy to combine with soccer, work, or studies.

Self-awareness
Using a practical methodology, you’ll gain insight into personal traits, patterns, and behavior. You’ll learn to better understand what influences you and how you can steer that in a specific direction.
Self-Control
Performing under pressure requires focus and self-direction. How do you ensure you stay focused on the task at hand when it really matters? And how can you support others in doing the same?
Self-Reflection
Development begins with taking an honest look at yourself. You’ll learn how to reflect purposefully on behavior, choices, and performance, and how to use this to continue growing.
Self-confidence
Self-confidence is essential to delivering at the right moment. In this program, you’ll work on strengthening that conviction, so that you not only know you can do it, but truly feel it.
Who is it for?
This program is suitable for soccer players and coaches active in (higher) amateur or professional soccer who want to specifically strengthen their mental skills in a personalized setting. No specific prior training is required.
