If you have questions about your contract, the collective labour agreement or need advice in doping matters, you will get those answers. If you have a conflict with your club, you will be assisted. If it comes to an arbitration case, you are entitled to free legal assistance if you have been a member for at least 12 months.

The VVCS has its own team of player coaches. The team consists of Louis Laros, Patrick van Diemen and Edwin de Kruijff. They will assist you as a personal coach throughout your sporting career. The VVCS is a KNVB Certified Intermediary Organisation and Louis, Patrick and Edwin are all registered intermediaries with the KNVB.

Together with HBO Drechtsteden, the VVCS has developed its own HBO study programme Top Sports Management and Entrepreneurship. In addition, it is also possible to follow various training programmes and courses at all levels. All training programmes and courses are specially developed for football players who, besides building a sports career, also want to work on a future social career. The training courses focus on both players at football clubs in the Netherlands and Dutch players at football clubs abroad. Incidentally, other top athletes are also welcome.

The VVCS represents the players’ interests in the collective agreement negotiations. The current collective agreement runs until 30 June 2023. Regularly, player groups and/or player councils are assisted by the VVCS in their negotiations with the club on collective contracts and/or premium negotiations. The VVCS runs the secretariat of the Central Players Council. The VVCS has a permanent seat on the FIFPro board. Members benefit from this global network.

The coach supports you with all your questions about your personal finances. This is done confidentially and quietly, with the sole aim of helping you manage your finances the way you want. So that after your career, you are left with a sound financial basis for the future.

Contract-less VVCS members train under professional guidance and play matches in the preparation in order to both stay fit and still attract the interest of clubs.

The VVCS will temporarily take over your job application obligation to allow you to think carefully and prepare for the next step.

The aim of the career portal is to help football players make their next career choice. Obviously, as a player, it makes sense to think about this already during your active career. But even if you have already quit and don’t feel that you have made a choice that suits you perfectly after football, you can go for a second chance through the portal. The digital career portal has been built under the banner of the CLA Foundation. In this Foundation, we cooperate with the clubs’ organisation.

Punt & Van de Weerdt Belastingadviseurs has been the tax partner of the VVCS for a number of years. In word and deed, they assist the VVCS on the fiscal playing field. As a member of the VVCS, you can use the services of Punt & Van der Weerdt Belastingadviseurs at a reduced rate.

Failure to properly follow the rules in the event of occupational disability can have far-reaching financial consequences for a (former) player. As practice regularly shows that at clubs the knowledge and experience in these areas are by no means adequate, the VVCS has decided to set up a professional guidance service for its members.

The After Career Consult is intended for professionals who decide to quit professional football at the end of this season, as well as for those who took that decision earlier (but no longer than 10 years ago). Experience shows that ending an active career is quite often accompanied by complaints of a physical and mental nature. But questions such as ‘How can I wind down responsibly?’ or ‘What can I do to prevent joint wear and tear?’ also come into play. The After Career Consult is aimed at getting answers to these questions and guiding you in this where necessary.

The VVCS wants to help and guide footballers/football players with a request for help regarding gambling addiction. To this end, VVCS appeals to the Topsport Company. They select specialised psychologists spread across the country who are ready 24/7 to assist male and female football players with a (possible) gambling problem.

The Central Players’ Council was created by the Professional Football Board in February 1985 and on Tuesday 2 April 1985, the CSR was officially installed by professional football chairman André van der Louw. CSR chairman Louis van Gaal of Sparta thereby expressed the hope that the KNVB and the CSR would work together in good harmony towards a better professional football. The CSR has advisory and consent rights regarding the position of players within the Professional Football section.

The Contract Player is the VVCS’ own magazine and is published several times a year. All magazines can also be downloaded as PDFs (Dutch) on the website.

In the field of mental coaching, there is now the Mental Portal.

This service has been specially developed for VVCS members. Through the mental portal, players can register for a free online conversation with a professional sports psychologist. In the conversation, you can get answers to a question, a solution to a difficult situation or we decide in consultation that a referral to a personal coach can help you further.
