Sport and entrepreneurship are an extension of each other. Both ambitions require perseverance, focusing on a goal, working together in a team, being able to react quickly to situations, taking advantage of opportunities, being able to cope with setbacks and being continuously focused on improvement.
Being successful in your sport is more than technique alone. A well-known coach assesses young players using the TIPS model: Technique, Insight, Personality and Speed. Innovation and entrepreneurship is also about more than technology; it is mainly people work. Based on your personal profile, the entire programme pays a lot of attention to developing and strengthening personal competences that are important for increasing your innovative entrepreneurship.
Every student is assigned a Portfolio supervisor: a coach who focuses on personal professional development. These supervisors work within football organisations and/or related organisations. The practical component is an important pillar of the programme. Therefore, in cooperation with organisations closely linked to the world of football, relevant practical assignments at college level are developed and carried out.
Take lessons from any location (including abroad)
The developed Learning-E methodology uses the Internet to let you learn interactively. You follow lectures in a virtual classroom and use voice and other techniques to communicate with the teacher and other students. You can also receive guidance from an expert without having to travel. Online, among other things, you can track your study progress. To use this method, you need a computer with an internet connection.
Innovative education
The aim is to offer students today’s opportunities to communicate and thus learn from anywhere in the world. The systems and methodologies are user-friendly and up-to-date.
Duration of training
The programme duration is variable, i.e. from 4 to 6 years, if you are unable to give your full attention to the study for a period of time, a run-out to a maximum of 6 years is possible. The programme then does not regard this as ‘delay’, but as the choice for a longer study variant. The extension of the programme is done by spending the second, fourth and sixth years exclusively repeating the material covered and taking exams, and not taking classes in those years. In these years, you are registered as an external student and pay less tuition fees. Of course, students can also choose to study for 4 or 5 years. It is also possible to spread the entire programme including tuition over six years, but then you will pay full tuition fees in all years.
We require the following investment
Besides paying your tuition fees, there are costs for books and study materials. For live communication, a headset is necessary and a webcam is recommended.
The cost of the course is €3,550.00 per academic year. This amount may be adjusted annually based on price indexation and cost development. Book fees amount to approximately € 1,750.00 (spread over all years).
Admission and enrolment
If you have a HAVO, VWO or MBO level 4 diploma, you can be admitted to the Bachelor of Business & Innovation programme if there are enough places available. If you had little Economics or Maths in your previous education, we will check whether you need additional maths education. We also look at your starting level for Dutch. All you have to do is fill in the application form and send it to HBO Academy, together with the requested appendices. If you meet all the requirements, you will automatically receive confirmation of receipt at home and, after payment of the application fee, you can start the Bachelor of Business & Innovation programme in the coming academic year. Are you older than 21 and do not have a HAVO, VWO or mbo diploma? Then, to be admitted, you have to take a 21+ examination. Are you currently 20, but will turn 21 in the upcoming academic year?
